What is epoxy terrazzo floor and epoxy terrazzo floor’s application and construction process

Epoxy terrazzo floor, also called epoxy-based terrazzo floor, or organic terrazzo floor. It is suitable for shopping malls, exhibition halls, corridors, high-level entertainment venues, exposition halls, business clubs and other places that require beautiful and wear-resistant floors.

A good-quality epoxy terrazzo floor needs to meet three conditions: Firstly, the surface is smooth and flat, without wear lines, blisters, cracks, and aggregates are evenly exposed, and the grid is firm; Secondly, the surface layer slope is designed reasonably and will not appear the situation of running water backflow; Thirdly, is that the heights of the skirting lines are the same, and the thickness of the constructed sample is uniform and there is no hollow.

The construction process of epoxy resin terrazzo floor:

1. Basic cleaning

In order to prolong the service life of the floor, make the flatness of the base layer meet the standard, and lay a good foundation for the subsequent coating construction, it is necessary to carry out dust-free grinding treatment on the base surface of the cement floor to remove the weak concrete surface and laitance debris.


2. Coating construction

After the concrete is planed and it is confirmed that no debris remains, the moisture content of the ground should be controlled below 8%, and the relative humidity of the environment should be controlled below 85%. Oxygen mortar is used for leveling, and then the solvent-free epoxy primer is primed by roller coating.

3. Pattern construction

The design and construction of the pattern layer determines the "appearance" of the floor. Large patterns with large areas need to be divided into elastic lines; designed patterns can be made of plastic strips and stainless steel strips; small patterns can be made of molds production; different-color patterns need to be poured separately for paving slurry colors; the outside of the pattern should be poured and paved with different slurry colors or grindstone aggregates as a whole.

4. Coarse grinding and fine grinding

After the pattern layer is cured or has a certain strength, first use coarse emery stone to grind until the surface is flat and even, all the grid bars and aggregates are exposed, and clean with water and a vacuum cleaner, and then use fine emery for a second time grinding and cleaning. Edges and corners that cannot be polished by large machines can be polished with a small polisher.

5. Repair and polishing

Slurry can be used to repair the places where the floor may have voids after polishing. Sealing and curing agent construction can be added between repairing and polishing to enhance the strength of the floor, isolate pollution and increase gloss.

6. Precautions

During the construction period, pay attention to cleaning the drainage ditch in time to avoid the sedimentation and solidification of the mud left in the drainage ditch. After the construction is completed, close the site temporarily for protection, and regularly maintain the finished product.
